A recap of Basketball highlights around the Lakes Region.
Branson Lady Pirates
The Lady Pirates finished last week with a hard fought victory over Jasper in a first time match-up between the Missouri and Arkansas Schools. Despite the size difference of the schools (Branson Missouri Class 6, Jasper Arkansas 1A). The game between the two Lady Pirate squads was tight throughout with the biggest lead by either team being eight points. Branson had scratched to that eight point lead in the fourth quarter only to see Jasper capitalize on a couple of turnovers and three points shots to tie the game at 48. Branson however scored the final four points of the game to secure the 52-48 win.
Branson followed that game up on Monday, getting a first round win over Camdenton at the Osage Tournament 71-56. Branson will play host Osage in the semi-finals on Thursday.
Forsyth Panthers
The Panthers, coming off an overtime loss at Mansfield last Friday, rebounded with an opening round win at the Spokane Tournament Monday, rolling by Verona 82-24. The Panthers will take on Strafford in Thursday's semifinals after their victory over host Spokane 70-43.
Harrison
The Goblins continue in search of that elusive first 5A West Conference win after dropping a contest 84-50 at Alma on Friday while the Lady Goblins were able to notch that first win, beating Alma 49-43.
Monday Games
On MOARK Sports Monday, the Hollister Tigers pick-up a road win at Cassville 63-54 while the Forsyth Lady Panthers played a tough first half before falling at home to Cassville 48-19.
