The Branson Pirates and Harrison Goblins both knock teams off that had been undefeated coming into their contests.
The Pirates pulled away in the second half to roll by West Plains 45-14 at Pirate Stadium. The Pirates scored the first 17 points of the game before West Plains scored late in the first half. The first of two big answers for the Pirates occurred in the final minute of the first half as the Pirates answered the touchdown with a 23 yard Vincente Pastrana pass to Landon Hughes to put the Pirates up 24-6 at half.
The Zizzers scored on the opening drive of the second half to cut the lead to 10, but then Branson answered again as Pastrana ran it in from eight yards out. The Pirates tacked on two more scores in the fourth quarter, including an interception return by Sam Vejraska, to secure the win.
Meanwhile in Highland, the Harrison Goblins came off their bye week to knock off the undefeated Rebels 28-7. The Goblins took their opening drive and finished off the series with a five-yard scoring run by Xavier Frieze. The Goblins took advantage of a short field after a bad snap on a Rebels' punt and a penalty and scored on a Killian Eddings five-yard run to go up 14-0 in the first quarter.
The Goblins got another score late in the second quarter on a Gavin Jones to Sky Jones pass to go up 21-0 and then Goblins cruised from there.
The other MOARK Schools had a tough night as all fell to the visiting opponents, with Catholic defeating Forsyth 48-28, Hollister falling to Buffalo 56-22, and Strafford knocking off Reeds Spring 49-22.
