Branson Wins, Hollister Drops Home Opener, Other Results

The third week of the High School Football season had a variety of results for the MOARK Schools.

Branson and Hollister both had their home openers with different results.

For the Pirates, they got the offense on track in the second quarter and also added a pick six on defense to roll by the Bolivar Liberators 35-6. Quarterback Vincente Pastrana scored three touchdowns with one added by running back Ryan Giles and the interception return for touchdown by Tred Houston.

The result was different for Hollister, going in undefeated into their rivalry game with Forsyth with the Panthers getting the offense going and rolling to a 50-7 for their first win of the season.

The Reeds Spring Wolves led at Clever 13-0 in the second half, but the Blue Jays scored three times in a four minute span to stun the Wolves 21-13 and leave them winless on the season.

In a low scoring match-up at F.S. Garrison Stadium, the Harrison Goblins dropped a hard fought 19-7 game to the Searcy Lions. The Goblins trailed 12-7 at half after they got deep into Lion territory but came away with no points. The Lions got the only touchdown of the second half shutting the Goblin offense down to get the win. The Goblins finish non-conference play at 1-2 and will have a bye week before beginning 5A West Conference play in two weeks.
