The Forsyth Panthers end an over 20 year drought to return to the Missouri State Basketball Tournament.

The Panthers roared out to a big lead then finished the deal, claiming a 75-55 win over Springfield Catholic in the Class 4 District 11 Title game at Hollister High School. After neither team scored in the first two minutes of the game, the Panthers got untrack and eventually started hitting baskets in transition.

Tamarkus Holmes led the Panthers with 22 points while Chris Halbrook added 21 as Forsyth goes to 22-6 for the season, including a 16-2 record since the first of the year.

The Panthers next opponent will be Nevada, who defeated Mount Vernon in their District Championship game Saturday. The game will be played Tuesday at 6:00 at Aurora High School.
