Goblins Swimmers Compete at Creekside

Prior to last week's winter weather, the Harrison Goblin Swimmers took part in a meet at the Creekside Community Pool.

The Harrison Goblins hit the water at Creekside Community Center on January 22 for an exciting meet against Mountain Home, and the home team turned in a series of impressive performances that showcased growth and determination.

On the girls’ side, Harrison swimmers made their mark in both individual and relay events. Maddix Steinman led the way with a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 1:09.53, and added a second-place effort in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:33.55. Harper Sessions was a key contributor, earning second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:19.95 and swimming a strong 200-yard IM in 3:22.89. Mia Corea impressed in the 100-yard backstroke, taking second at 1:32.20, while Makayla Garay added valuable points in the breaststroke and distance events.

The girls capped the night with a big win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as Sessions, Corea, Garay, and Steinman combined for a time of 5:54.23, earning 40 points and closing the meet on a high note.

On the boys’ side, Easton Feighert powered to victory in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:09.74, giving Harrison a strong individual win. Gavin Hobson added another first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:35.82 and placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with 59.92. Brandon Wortley contributed in the backstroke and IM events, while Feighert and Hobson anchored key relay efforts for the team.

The Goblins showed depth and determination throughout the meet, with the girls’ team scoring 210 points and the boys adding 86 points. Harrison’s swimmers continue to build momentum and will look to carry this energy into their next competition.
