One of the two MOARK Football Teams still playing will move on to play another day while the other fell just short of extending the season.
For the Harrison Goblins, they needed a win in their final regular season game against Morrilton to advance to the 5A Playoffs. The Goblin offense built a lead in the first half while the Goblin defense shut the door in the second half on their way to a 28-13 win. The Goblin defense forced five turnovers and pitched the shutout in the second half to secure the win.
Gavin Jones threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns to advance Harrison to 5A Playoffs next week at Camden Fairview.
The news was not as good for the Branson Pirates, though they didn't fall without a fight at Neosho in the Class 5 District Semifinals. The Wildcats held a 21-7 lead late in the first half before the Pirates scored 17 straight points including a Rhory Webber 43-yard field goal to end the half then touchdown runs by Vincente Pastrana and Noah McCright, the second touchdown set up after a Neosho turnover, to grab a 24-21 lead.
The Wildcats regained control getting two straight scores to lead 34-24 but Branson drove the length of the field with a McCright touchdown getting the Pirates within three.
Branson however could not get the ball back as Neosho converted their final first down by the nose of the ball to advance to next week's Class 5 District Championship Game at Republic while Branson finishes their season 9-2.
