Harrison Golf, Tennis Have Busy First Week of September

The Harrison Golf and Tennis Teams have a full first week of the month.

According to information posted by the Harrison Golden Goblin Facebook Page, the girls' tennis team traveled to Russellville last Tuesday for a 5A West Conference tri-match against the Russellville Cyclones and the Van Buren Pointers, securing a 3-1 victory over the host Cyclones while falling to Van Buren by the same score.

The boys' tennis team also traveled to Russellville for a 5A West Conference tri-match, splitting their contests with the Van Buren Pointers and facing a tough loss against the host Russellville Cyclones 4-0. 

On Wednesday, The Harrison Goblin boys' golf team clinched first place at the 5A West Conference Preview, held at Eagle Crest Golf Course in Alma. The Goblins finished with a team score of 290 (+6), outperforming six other teams. Junior Isaac Freeman led the team with an outstanding 69 (-2), earning the top individual score of the day.

On Thursday, the golfing Goblins secured a decisive victory at the Big Creek Golf & Country Club in Mountain Home. The Goblins finished with a team score of 305 (+17), outplaying five other high school teams from across Arkansas. The Goblins' balanced attack was evident in their top four scores, all of which broke 80. Senior Jack Magness led the charge, shooting an impressive 73 (+1) to claim second place individually. 

The tennis teams traveled to Farmington on Thursday, splitting their 5A West match play against the Farmington Cardinals with both the Goblins and Lady Goblins finishing 2-2.
