The Harrison School District has decided who will be handed the reins of the Boys Basketball Program after the retirement of David Stahler.

A new chapter in Ozarks basketball history began this week as Harrison High School named Kyler Hensley the 23rd head boys basketball coach in the more than 100-year tradition of the Goblins program.
Hensley brings strong regional roots and high-level experience to Harrison. A Clinton native, he grew up just down the road, surrounded by a close-knit family, and developed his love for the game while playing for Coach Gardner, now the head coach at Greenbrier. He continued his basketball career at Harding University, playing under Jeff Morgan, one of the most respected coaches in Arkansas college basketball history.
Since college, Hensley has built an impressive coaching résumé at both the collegiate and elite prep levels. He served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Baptist University under Jason Eaker, where he helped develop Terry Coner Jr., the Great American Conference Freshman of the Year and a Division II First Team All-American. Hensley later joined Link Academy High School as an assistant under Chad Myers before moving into the head coaching role for the Link Academy Post-Grad program.
During his time at Link, Hensley played a key role in developing more than a dozen high-major prospects, including multiple Jordan Brand All-Americans and McDonald’s All-American Chris Cenac, widely regarded as a future first-round NBA Draft pick.
Now at Harrison, Hensley takes over one of Arkansas’ most tradition-rich programs, focusing on player development, building relationships, and strengthening the connection between the team and the community. With a blend of small-town values and elite basketball experience, he looks to carry the Goblins’ proud legacy forward while guiding the program into its next era.
