A final recap of the High School Basketball Season in the Lakes Region.
Arkansas
While the Harrison Goblins and Lady Goblins did not make postseason play this season, several other area schools did make it to state competition.
In 1A Boys, both Jasper and Lead Hill qualified for the State Tournament. While Lead Hill was knocked out in the first round, Jasper won their first two games before being eliminated one game short of the state finals, losing in the semi-finals to eventual State Champion Earle 80-49.
The Earle Girls Team, whose 34-2 record included wins over Jasper, Bergman, and Branson to claim the Lendel Thomas Classic in December, was the Girls Champion in 1A. The Jasper Girls did make the state tournament losing to West Side in the opening round. West Side was runner-up to Earle in the tournament.
Both Bergman teams made the 3A Tournament with the boys falling two point short of the title game, losing to Newport 46-44 in the semifinals. The Lady Panthers dropped their opening round game by one point to Dumas 43-42.
In 4A, the Berryville Lady Bobcats fell in the opening round of the state tournament to Forest City 61-33.
Missouri
As previously reported, several teams made runs in last week's district tournaments, including two teams claiming championships before falling in this week's Missouri State Tournament.
The Forsyth Boys overcame a hot shooting start to Nevada in their Class 4 Sectional at Aurora, but could not overcome their stingy defense as the Panthers fell to the Tigers 53-46.
The Reeds Spring Girls tried to rally after a tough start to the second half of their game against Nevada in the Sectional at Monett, but the Lady Wolves still fell to the Lady Tigers 35-32.
After a surprise win in the opening round of the Class 6 District last week, Branson had their season ended in the semifinals with a loss to Nixa.
