The Harrison Area will see several thousand athletes and fans in the region as four state tournaments are taking place.
Harrison High School is the host school for the Class 5A State Baseball and Softball Tournaments taking place on the fields of the Equity Bank Sports Complex. While neither of the Harrison teams qualified for this year’s event, 16 teams from around the state including Mountain Home's Baseball and Softball teams will be present to play in each tournament through semi-final round games on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Bergman High School is the host for the Class 3A Boys and Girls Soccer Championships being played at the Anstaff Soccer Complex. Both the Green Forest Boys and Girls teams as well as Eureka Springs Boys qualified for the tournament. Action will continue through the semi-final matches on Saturday.
Several other area schools are playing in various tournaments including the Harrison Lady Goblin Soccer team taking part in the 5A Tournament at Hot Springs.
The finals for all state tournaments will be played at University of Central Arkansas in Conway later this month.
