High School Teams Well Into Spring Seasons

Arkansas and Missouri High Schools are into their Spring Sports Seasons.

Over the next days, MOARK Sports will be catching up with some of the events that have taken place in the region.

Starting today:
Branson Baseball
The Pirates are 3-4 for the season which included a 2-2 trip to Oklahoma at the end of last week. The Pirates also finished 2-2 in the Steve Lael Lead-off Classic to begin the year. The Pirates have a full set of games this week, including back-to-back games in Springfield Tuesday at Kickapoo and Wednesday at Catholic. The Pirates also have an early Friday game at Republic beginning at 1:00 then will have a Noon Saturday start at home against McDonald County. 

Reeds Spring Softball
The Lady Wolves had a tough outing in Harrison this weekend at the Ozarks Softball Classic, losing three at the Equity Bank Sports Complex. On Friday, the Lady Wolves dropped a 12-3 decision to Izard County then a 7-0 contest to Walnut Ridge. On Saturday, the Lady Wolves battled hard against Calico Rock, but ultimately fell 10-5. For the Lady Wolves this week, the host Buffalo on Tuesday and Lighthouse Christian on Thursday. 

Forsyth Baseball
The Panthers were also in Harrison this past weekend, playing on the Baseball side of the Ozarks Classic. The Panthers lost Friday to Mountain Home 12-1 then split two games on Saturday, beating Marshall 9-1 then falling to Valley Springs 7-5. The Panthers are 4-4 for the season and will host their Mid-Lakes Baseball Opener against Hollister on Tuesday followed by a road game Thursday at Clever. The Panthers also have a non-conference game Friday at Cassville. 

Hollister Baseball 
The Tigers are 3-1, opening last week with a one run win over Aurora, a one run loss to Ava, then wins over Carl Junction and Spokane. The Tigers play host to Monett today before Tuesday's contest at Forsyth.

Sparta Softball Tournament
Three area schools were part of the six-team field. On Friday, Hollister split two games in Pool Play, losing to Gainesville 8-0 then getting a one run win over the host Lady Trojans. In the other Pool on Saturday, Forsyth defeated Fordland 5-0 and Blue Eye 15-5 while Blue Eye dropped their game to Fordland. In the final games, Hollister shutout Blue Eye for 5th place 19-0, Fordland got a 12-2 win in the 3rd place game over Sparta, while Gainesville won a back and forth game over Forsyth to take home 1st place 7-5. 

Harrison Baseball/Softball
The Baseball Goblins are 8-5 for the season and claimed an Ozark Baseball Classic title the weekend of the 20th, winning games over Mountain Grove and McDonald County before securing a championship game victory over Pea Ridge 6-2. This week, the Goblins will be on the Road Tuesday at Siloam Springs and Friday at Van Buren. 

Meanwhile, the Softball Lady Goblins look to rebound after a tough start to the season, looking for win number one on the campaign this week at Siloam Springs Tuesday and at Shiloh Christian on Thursday.
