The final week of the regular season for High School Football has teams trying to finish strong and earn a high seed for the District Playoffs that begin in Week 10.
For the Lakes Region Schools, Branson has the best chance to host a Week 10 game but must beat a tough opponent in the process, The 7-1 Pirates will travel to Rogersville to face off against the 8-0 Wildcats with the outright Ozark Mountain Conference Title on the line. The Pirates have yet to lose a conference game in the three year's of the OMC's existence, but the Wildcats gave the Pirates one of the closes calls with Branson holding on to a 35-28 win last season.
The OMC Race is just part of the puzzle as Branson is trying to secure a home game in the upcoming 5A District. The Pirates currently sit fourth and a win would more in likely earn then a home game in Week 10. However a lose and a Webb City win at Joplin could put the Pirates on the road for district play.
Republic is the top team in the district and in the driver's seat for a first round bye with Number 2 Neosho at Number 3 Carthage a key game in determining district seeds.
The other Lakes Region teams will more than likely be on the road for district play though Reeds Spring, with an upset win at home over Clever, possibly earning a Week 10 home game. Regardless of outcome, their opponent in their Class 3 District looks to be Mt Vernon.
Forsyth and Hollister will play each other to wrap-up the regular season in Forsyth. The Panthers currently are projected to be the fifth seed in their Class 2 District and looking for a rematch of last year's district title game at Mt. View Liberty. Hollister is currently seventh in their Class 3 District and look to be heading to Seneca for Week 10.
After games are completed on Friday final point tabulations will be calculated and final standings posted over the weekend that will determine the week 10 matchups.
