Games covered this past week on MOARK Sports includes big matches for Blue Eye Volleyball as well as a streak ending game for Branson Softball.
Volleyball
The Blue Eye Lady Bulldogs are off to a strong start for the season, having rolled through the Koshkonong Tournament and building up an undefeated match record, though the Lady Bulldogs faced a tough week as they grabbed a straight set win at School of the Ozarks on Tuesday before losing their first set of the season but still prevailing to win a match at Reeds Spring in four sets. Archived recordings of those matches plus Hollister's five set win over Spokane can be heard on the MOARK/Perry Phillips Channels.
Hollister themselves are off to a fast start as they haven't lost a match this season with just one tie against Bolivar at the Forsyth Tournament their only blemish.
Another volleyball team coming on is Branson, who is coming off an undefeated finish at Saturday's Hillcrest Tournament. The Lady Pirates also won two of three matches at the recent Ozark Mountain Conference Cross-over Tournament with the Central Missouri Activities Conference in Columbia.
Softball
In a game heard on MOARK Sports, the Branson Lady Pirates broke a four-game losing streak with a 10-0 win over visiting Locust Grove from Oklahoma on Saturday. The Lady Pirates scored two runs in each of the first three innings then waited out a 30 minute weather delay to score four runs in the fifth to end the game backing up the 2 hit/11 strikeout performance of Mary Woods in the circle.
Cross Country
The Harrison teams took part in the Elkins Invitational and ended up with three medals including a First Place Finish for Hunter Frickle in the overall individual Boys Race while the Goblins' Lucas Isanhart and Aiyanna Reed earned medals in the 4A-5A competition.
