North Arkansas College has announced the hiring of Brad Phillips as the new head coach of the Lady Pioneer basketball program, bringing more than two decades of coaching experience across multiple collegiate levels.
Phillips has built a reputation for developing successful programs and student-athletes, with experience spanning the NAIA, NJCAA, and NCCAA ranks. He is currently serving as head basketball coach at Marmaduke High School. Most recently at the collegiate level, he served as head women’s basketball coach at Ecclesia College, where he led the program to one of the best seasons in school history and a regional runner-up finish. Prior to that, Phillips served as athletic director at Arkansas State University-Newport and has held head coaching positions at several institutions, including Crowley’s Ridge College and University of Arkansas Cossatot.
Throughout his career, Phillips has demonstrated a strong commitment to student-athlete success both on and off the court, with a proven track record of building competitive teams, increasing win totals, and emphasizing academic achievement.
“We are excited to have Brad as Head Women’s Basketball Coach,” said Bobby Howard, Northark athletic director. “He is well respected around the state and brings experience and knowledge that will help continue the strong tradition of Lady Pioneer Basketball.”
Phillips’ leadership experience includes restarting programs, recruiting large classes of student-athletes, and guiding teams to record-breaking seasons and postseason appearances. His approach emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and holistic development—values that align closely with the mission of North Arkansas College athletics.
“I’m honored for the opportunity to lead the Lady Pioneer program,” Phillips said. “North Arkansas College has a strong tradition, and I look forward to building on that success while helping our student-athletes grow both on the court and in the classroom.”
Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Williams Baptist College and a Master of Science in Physical Education from Emporia State University.
With Phillips at the helm, Northark looks to continue its tradition of excellence in women’s basketball while investing in the future success of its student-athletes.
