Spring Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Includes Inductees with Area Connections

This week the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Spring Luncheon honored three individuals with Lakes Region Connections. 

Steve Lael was Branson Head Baseball Coach from 1987-2011 winning 10 Central Ozark Conference and 10 District Titles guiding the Pirates to four Final Four Appearances. 

Also honored was Jerry Breaux for his over 30-year-career as a College Softball Coach, He coached over 20 years at Evangel then later at Drury University. Breaux is currently the City of Branson's Parks and Recreation Staff as Tournament Director coordinating numerous tournaments at the Branson Rec Plex. 

A member of the Spring Sports “Diamond 9” team, Mathias Miller, was a standout at Conway High School who finished his collegiate career at College of the Ozarks. 

According to a release from the Hall of Fame, over 600 people attended the ceremony on Tuesday which included the induction of former St. Louis Cardinal Player and Coach Jose Oquendo.
