State Track Results: Mendoza Finishes with State Championship

Class 1 through 3 Schools finish their track seasons this past weekend at the State Track Meet in Jefferson City.

From the Lakes Region, Hollister Senior Sinry Mendoza finishes up his career grabbing one final State Championship, grabbing first place in the Class 3  3200 Meter Run. Mendoza, who claimed his third straight 3200 Meter Title in the win, also claimed two second place finishes, in the 800 and 1600 Meter Runs. Mendoza's efforts earned enough points to place Hollister 10th in the Class 3 Boys Team Standings. 

Another area team that placed high in the state meet was the Blue Eye Boys, who claimed a tie for 11th place in Class 1. Isaac Harper's second place finish in the 300 Meter Hurdles along with Izzlee Brown's fourth place finish in the 110 Meter Hurdles led the way. The Bulldogs were also aided by a third place finish in the 4 x 100 Meter Relay and fifth place in the 4 x 400 Meter Relay. 

The School of the Ozarks Lady Patriots placed in their state meets finishing15th in Class 1. They were led by the fourth place finish of the 4 x 200 Meter Relay Team. Other top finishers were by Claire Knight who took sixth in both the 300 Meter Hurdles and the Triple Jump while Ella Howard finished fifth in the 3200 Meter Run.

Crane: Owen Vaught 8th Class 2 Boys Javelin
Forsyth: Brynlie Yarnell 8th Class 3 Girls 3200 Meter Run
S of O: Kellen Robertson 6th Class 2 Boys 3200 Meter Run

Branson will be the last Lakes Area Team to take part in a state meet as they will be in Jefferson City this coming weekend for the Class 5 State Meet.
