While the Branson Pirates claimed their sixth straight win on Friday night, two other MOARK Football Teams claimed wins ending losing streaks.
The Harrison Goblins celebrated huge Homecoming win as they broke a two-game skid and claimed their first 5A West win rolling to a 56-8 win over Clarksville. The win evens the Goblins’ mark at 3-3 for the season.
Meanwhile, a longer losing streak was snapped in Reeds Spring as the Wolves rolled by Buffalo 38-13. Freshman Quarterback Nate Waters had a big night, throwing for 252 yards going 10-13 while he also rushed for 54 yards. The Wolves, after an opening night win at Parkview, had dropped five straight before Friday’s win.
For the Branson Pirates, they jumped out to a big lead, so the host Bolivar Liberators quicky score twice in the second quarter to cut the lead to seven before the Pirates scored in the game’s final seconds of the first half and went on from their to post a 49-21 win. Quarterback Vincente Pastrana rushed for five touchdowns and Blake Weber added two to lead Branson to their sixth straight win.
The other two MOARK Schools had rough nights as both were shutout, Forsyth 47-0 by Fair Grove and Hollister 42-0 by Springfield Catholic.
